Also known as the InterProvincial Championship

This event is a team competition for four player teams of any ability.

This event has zone, provincial and national competitions with

two teams from each province advancing to the Canadian Finals.

Zone Rules

1.     The rules of the Canadian 5 Pin Bowlers' Association shall apply

2.     Bowlers must

3.     Be 19 years old at December 31st

4.     Reside within the Central Zone of the Alberta 5 Pin Bowlers' Association. 

5.     Provide proof of age, residency and membership is required at the zone and Alberta Championships.

6.     Zone finals (5 games) will take place in Camrose on Sunday, December 13th at a time to be announced

7.     The top two teams in the zones will advance to the provincial finals in either Lethbridge or Medicine Hat on Saturday and Sunday, February 27th and 28th.

8.     If a team member declines to advance to the Alberta Championships, an alternate shall be allowed, providing the alternate comes from the same bowling centre and has paid the league or house entry fee. 

9.     Teams must be made up of two (2) ladies and two (2) men who may bowl in any league within a single bowling centre.

10.  A bowler may enter on more than one team, but may only advance to the zone finals on one team. 

11.  Zone qualification will involve either six games bowled in league play or in a house round, at the discretion of each bowling centre.

12.  Pre-bowls are not permitted.

13.  Your highest league average prior to league or house round, shall be used (minimum of 12 games bowled). 

14.  Averages as of December 1st will be required at the Zone Finals, submitted to the zone chairperson by Monday, December 7th.

15.  The entry fee of $10 per team ($2.50 per bowler), excluding lineage and membership, shall be collected from each team by the bowling center at the league or house round.

16.  Zone finalists will comprise the top team from each bowling centre, then the teams most over average from the remainder of the entrants to fill the available shifts as determined by the zone chairperson.

17.  The zone final entry fee will be $40 per person ($160 per team) which includes lineage and a $10.00 per person Alberta 5 Pin Bowlers Association assessment.

18.  Dress code for the zone finals is “neat and tidy” at the discretion of the tournament committee.  Persons violating the dress code will be asked to change or withdraw.  Failure to comply may result in suspension from the tournament and the Association.

19.  Each Alberta Championship qualifier must participate in any fund-raising efforts of the Central Alberta 5 Pin Bowlers’ Association.  The profits will be applied to Central Zone expenses incurred at the Alberta Championships.

20.  The Alberta 5 Pin Bowlers’ Association Dress Code will apply at the Alberta Championships.  It states that each entrant may wear

21.  a loaned zone shirt (to be returned after the tournament)

22.  slacks or skirt; with straight, hemmed bottom and solid colour, no fluorescent colours, denim, track or sweat pants

23.  No hats or caps (exceptions for medical or religious reasons)

24.  Flagrant disregard for the Dress Code shall result in the entrant being asked to adhere to the Dress Code or pay a $100 fine to bowl in the disallowed clothing.

25.  The winners advancing to the provincial finals will be liable for their own travel and accommodation expenses, offset by a $120 allowance per person from the zone, payable upon submission of receipts to the treasurer

26.  Each team shall select a Certified Level I coach from those that have applied to coach at the provincial finals.

Note: Provincial Assessment fee to attend the National Championships shall not exceed $300 per person.
